The Kiwanis Club of Waynesville recently announced the availability of Scott Fund Grants and Unrestricted Grants for 2018.

Scott Fund Grants are restricted to educational and recreational uses benefiting Haywood County children ages 13 and under.  These grants generally fall in the $10,000 to $20,000 range.

Unrestricted Grants typically range from $500 to $2000 and must meet the following criteria: The proposed project will serve youth and children in the Haywood County community and will provide tangible, long lasting items such as equipment and supplies. The awarded grants will strive to maximize the impact of these funds on the children of the community.

The primary mission of the Kiwanis Club of Waynesville is to support the youth of Haywood County.  The resources to support the Unrestricted Grants come from our fund raising projects, including the Spelling Bee each spring, our BBQ in the fall and U.S. flag service on national holidays.  This year, the Kiwanis Club expects to award over $35,000 to local schools and community organizations.

All applications must include a budget detailing the cost of the items requested for the project.

To obtain application materials, copy the form(s) below or email KiwanisScottGrant@gmail.com or telephone Rosemary Hieronymus, 703-609-4542.

To be considered in the 2018 grant cycle, applications for Unrestricted Grants must be received by April 6, 2018; those for Scott Grants must be received by April 18, 2018.

The Kiwanis Club of Waynesville is an active group of men and women from the Waynesville area, including Maggie Valley, Lake Junaluska and Canton.  The club meets at 11:30  each Tuesday at Laurel Ridge Country Club, 788 Eagles Nest Rd., Waynesville.
